Thornton Park Village has played a significant role in my life over the past 16 years. Initially employed to work three days a week as a Caregiver and, to attend to any emergency issues and processes given my voluntary role as a certified Ambulance Officer at the time. I can assure you, I have never worked 3 days from the day I started. But all worth it – training and studying toward obtaining my National Certificate in Health & Wellbeing, Dementia & Aged Care graduating in 2007.
My time here at Thornton Park has been none other than challenging at times, satisfying and fulfilling. The challenges faced a long the way have been rewarding in many respects, given the experienced gain by finding ways to overcome those issues in order to engage, and ensure safer practices are incorporated into the daily care of our residents.
In my role as Support Officer, it has presented me with opportunities to work and develop effective processes and working relationships with Health Care agencies and other services, our community and wider community and more importantly engaging close relationships with our families and residents.
The successes of Thornton Park Village is a reflection and testament of effective teamwork, commitment and dedication from a vibrant team of staff both past and present, supported by our Directors who continue to work together to ensure the highest possible level of care. We have much pride in sharing our family orientated concept with those people we continue to care for and about.
