My name is Claudia Lee Paul.. I come from India.. I did my bachelor of nursing in Whangarei. After completing my course in 2012, I got my first job as a Registered Nurse at Thornton Park Retirement Lodge and I have been here for the last 8 years.. it was a challenge for me to work as a registered nurse at the beginning, straight from nursing school with no experience.. However our Clinical Manager at that time, Mel Ifa, mentored, nurtured and supported me to overcome my fear and become the person I am now.. She taught me how to liaises with the multi disciplinary team, so that they have the best quality of life during their stay in the rest home.. With the help of Mel and the whole team, I was able to develop a strong base in my career and develop my knowledge everyday... I was never treated as an outsider. The love and support from the whole team made me stay here for this long and I became apart of the Thornton Park family.
